Media Server Guide, please bookmark me!

Hello!

If you are reading this, you are the lucky recepient of a login to the Media Server.

You can "watch" media at the watch.ziasquinn.com URL.
You can "request" media at the request.ziasquinn.com URL.

The login you have received from me should allow you to login to both sites, same credentials.

If you ever find yourself locked out, due to typos or erroneous entries, the system will lock your account after a maximum of 5 attempts. Sometimes 3, it isn't unified.

Please reach out to me if this happens, and I will unlock your account. I can do it anywhere, so do not fear.

If a piece of media is misbehaving or erroring out, you can submit issues/tickets at the Request site. Or you can message me normal style. It makes no real difference to me, but the site will be good if I cannot action the issue immediately. I will not submit a ticket in your stead, so messaging me, or reminding me, is up to you.

Should you want to utilize the Watch site on your TV or other device that lacks an internet browser, you can download and install a Jellyfin application to the device, say, TV.

If the TV app store does have the Jellyfin application, you can connect it to the server with the Watch URL, however, you MUST include "https://" as a prefix before "watch.ziasquinn.com".

Some TVs do not have the Jellyfin app in their stores, and may require extra steps, and/or simply be impossible to resolve. You can stream from your phone or plug an HDMI cable into the TV, alternatively.

It is sometimes possible to sideload unsigned apps from Github into the TV's app library, but it is such a huge pain in the ass sometimes that I wouldn't really recommend it unless you're particularly stubborn or really enjoy a tedious technical recipe.
